I am always looking for new music to listen to but thought that I would do some self promotion.
I’ve always enjoyed writing in some fashion and the first was writing songs. Back then I would just write, write and write. Everything turned into a song lyric and a beat wasn’t too far behind. While I have never recorded any of my written work, my siblings have and perform locally.
When starting ApexThis, I made two YouTube videos, one for a Google Music Walk-through and another for Google Music Tips. When deciding on background music to use, I, at the time, could not find anything that I really liked that was in the license free collection. Thus, I decided to dig out some old songs I made hence Bit by Bit. For each video I used tracks “Jealousy” and “They Ain’t Ready” to provide background music. The songs on Bit by Bit were from a video game I attempted to make back in high school. I wanted the 8-bit like sound and worked it from there. For fun my sister and I wrote two songs for the mentioned tracks, but never recorded the vocals.
From there, I launched a podcast on another site I run and needed intro and exit music. I then created and used “The Boss Intro (remix)” for both of these segments fading in the portions of the song I wanted as I felt the original version was a bit too aggressive.
Overall, the songs from each “album” are of an electric hip-hop dance vibe. So far, I have released them on Google Music due to their easier publishing requirements. In the future, I hope to release on iTunes as well. If you purchase on Google Music, you can download the MP3. You are also able to stream it through Google Play Music.
I hope you enjoy.
